Position Summary: Regional leader in electronics recycling and resale seeks an experienced marketing manager to build and manage all aspects of the organization’s communications and marketing efforts. If you enjoy being the architect of plans that get results, we would like to talk with you. The ideal candidate will excel at developing the voice of the organization for inbound marketing and retail sales, and will ensure that all messages from Comprenew align with communications goals. The ideal candidate will excel at keeping the entire organization’s plan on schedule, on-target, and on-goal through rigorous attention to analytics and regular reporting.

About Comprenew: Comprenew is the only non-profit recycler in the world to hold the coveted e-Stewards and R-2 certifications, ensuring that Comprenew meets the highest global standards in data security, employee safety, and adherence to a zero-landfill policy. Comprenew’s mission is to protect people and the environment from unwanted electronics by either extending their life-cycle or recycling their components. Comprenew provides services to companies throughout the Midwestern United States and operates a recycling and refurbishing facility in Grand Rapids. Proceeds from our three retail stores and online store help fund and grow Comprenew’s community outreach programs for both adults and at-risk youth.


  • Develop the organization’s marketing plan for inbound and retail marketing efforts
  • Oversee the on-schedule implementation of the plan and collaborate with the in-house marketing team, creating content where needed
  • Monitoring social media and updating content on the Comprenew websites
  • Analyzing and reporting on ROI across marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Assisting with internal and external marketing communications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a related field
  • Skills in graphic design and copywriting are desirable
  • Experience with website content, content marketing, social media campaigns, SEO/SEM
  • Proven experience using data to refine marketing endeavors, particularly around keyword research, social analytics, and digital ad campaign results
  • Experience working under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
  • Spanish speaking is a plus


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing preferred or equivalent degree and/or experience

Secure Data Transport Driver


Comprenew is growing and in need of another Chauffer Floater to help with inbound equipment collection services! Starting out as part-time (under 30 hours/week), this position has the possibility of becoming full-time. The employee will be used wherever needed, wear multiple hats and work closely with Customer Service to strategize the greatest needs. We seek someone who has broad technical knowledge, ability to lift and move computer hardware, strong personal relationship and communication skills, and most importantly, a desire to help people in need and the environment while leaving a positive lasting impression of Comprenew!


Connect All Michigan Program Deliveries:

  • Load Mini Box Truck with the appropriate reusable green bins.
  • Make a Pre-Appointment Call to let recipients know when to expect us.
  • Provide in-home hardware setup and quick-testing procedures.

 Residential /Small Business Recycling Pickups:

  • Remove unwanted hardware.
  • Demonstrate professional manner and appearance.
  • Be alert and mindful of surroundings when moving equipment.
  • Walls, sliding door channels, switchback staircases, cars in garages, etc
  • Bring blankets, dolly, and other protection / hardware transportation tools.
  • Bring drill when breakdown of large printer / projection TV is needed

 Local Deliveries for Online Store:

  • Safe delivery transportation for Online Sales.
  • Groupme App Communication with Online to stay up to date.

Assist in Corporate Pickups when needed:

  • Coordinate with Transportation Crew to schedule help for Corporate Pickups.
  • Ride along to assist the logistics team.
  • Assist retail stores in prepping for recycling pickups and provide education/guidance when needed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to move at least 75lbs
  • Some technical knowledge of computer hardware installation
  • Set up and test computer
  • Connect to wi-fi printer
  • Test camera

Customer Service Representative – Keyholder 

Location: Comprenew Retail Stores

Reports to: Store Manager and Retail Director

Position Summary: Comprenew is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect people and the environment from unwanted electronics, by either extending their life-cycle or recycling their components. We hold the highest level of certifications in the world for both electronics recycling and data security. We offer high quality affordable refurbished electronics for sale at three retail locations in the Grand Rapids/Holland MI area. Proceeds from the retail stores help fund and grow Comprenew’s community outreach programs for both adults and at-risk youth.

We are looking for high-energy, self-motivated individuals to serve our loyal customer base while contributing to the growth of our retail stores and mission. The ideal candidate should have a technical skill set, an outgoing personality, and the ability to work closely with the public selling merchandise. All positions at Comprenew have the opportunity for advancement. This position promotes along the track of Key Holder, Assistant Manager, and Manager and the potential to become full-time after the Key Holder level.

The Keyholder is responsible for opening and closing the retail store safely and securely. They are responsible for the daily operations of the store in absence of the Store Manager. This position may require travel to various locations within the greater GR area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Maintaining order and cleanliness at the store
  • Opening and closing the store in a safe and secure manner
  • Assisting customers in diagnosing basic computer issues
  • Understanding and contributing to sales goals
  • Merchandising products available in the stores
  • Maintaining proactive communication with all levels of store personnel
  • Contributing to strategies outlined by the Store Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of most computer parts and pieces
  • Navigate most popular OS including Windows XP -Window 8, with a strong emphasis on Windows 10
  • Basic understanding of Linux and Mac OS
  • Accurate money handling
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Lift 40lbs repetitively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Spanish speaking is a plus
  • Proven retail customer service experience, preferably in the technology service area.
  • Flexible schedule, willing to work Saturdays and holidays
  • Reliable transportation
