Job Summary:

Comprenew’s Online sales department is looking for someone who can help maintain daily operations. This role is vital to the growth of ShopComprenew. This person will not only be responsible for inventory organization and standards, but will also assist both the Online Shipping Manager and Marketplace Specialist. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, a self-starter, and has the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Sort, check in, and organize incoming product
  • Maintain a well-organized inventory and conduct seasonal audits
  • Assist in photographing and listing incoming product to all online platforms
  • Assist with shipping out orders and diagnosing basic computer issues as needed
  • Assist with providing excellent customer service to online customers via answering e-mails and phone calls

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Retail Sales– Electronics Store

Job Description:

Comprenew is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect people and the environment from unwanted electronics by either extending their life-cycle or recycling their components. We hold the highest level of certifications in the world for both electronics recycling and data security. We offer high quality affordable refurbished electronics for sale at 3 retail locations in the Grand Rapids/Holland MI area. Proceeds from the retail stores help fund and grow Comprenew’s community outreach programs for both adults and at-risk youth.

We are looking for high-energy, self-motivated individuals to serve our loyal customer base while contributing to the growth of our retail stores and mission. All positions at Comprenew have the opportunity for advancement. This position promotes along the track of Key Holder, Assistant Manager, and Manager and the potential to become full-time after the Key Holder level.

Store hours are Monday – Saturday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Duties include:

· Providing exceptional customer service.
· Maintaining order and cleanliness at the store.
· Sorting, reviewing and testing incoming merchandise
· Accurate use of the register.
· Filling out forms and file paperwork
· Assisting customers in diagnosing basic computer issues
· Merchandise products available in the stores.

Job Description:

  • This is a full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Reports to the Director of Retail Flow
  • Maintaining and improving the flow of audio-visual (non-IT) equipment and other related devices through the refurbishing process.  Such devices include – but are not limited to – stereo equipment, projectors, game systems, televisions, computer monitors, DVD players, speakers, radios, vintage equipment, cables, etc.
  • Supervising and directing members of the AV refurb.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the flow of all miscellaneous electronic devices to the retail stores.
  • Maintain, improve, and teach the established processes and procedures to staff and volunteers in the Audio/Video Department.
  • Ensure a high standard of quality is built into each product going to the retail stores.
  • Keep staff apprised of the changes to the Refurbisher Program, ensuring the program is maintained with integrity.
  • Maximize the value of vintage equipment by development and use of appropriate test and repair methods.
  • Coordinate activities and the flow of product with the other refurb departments.
  • Develop schedules for the AV personnel to maximize product flow.
  • Price items sent to the retail locations.
  • Properly designate rejected items sent to the Reclaim department.
  • Accurately maintain daily production records.



  • High School Diploma or GED.


  • Prior work with electronic devices.
  • Management or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work alone or with others while maintaining a steady work flow.

Position Summary: The Gaylord site manager serves the loyal customer base of our document- shred business and leads to the performance and growth of the local operation while communicating the mission of Comprenew.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work closely with the public selling our mission and services. This is currently a part-time, Mon-Fri position. Position requires travel to various locations within the greater Gaylord area. Potential advancement opportunities exist for the right candidate.


  • Interface with defined-route customers
  • Provide excellent, friendly service including defusing sensitive customer situations
  • Grow business in the greater Gaylord area.
  • Successfully implement new initiatives, programs and sales
  • Ensure company and customer assets are properly secured at all times

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Drive a very small (12’) box truck. Standard driver’s license required.
  • Lift up to 40 lb repetitively
  • Push and pull loaded carts
  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Ideal candidate will live within 20 miles of Gaylord.
  • Spanish speaking
  • Basic server experience

EDUCATION: Some college or equivalent experience in a related field
