Comprenew is a local nonprofit electronics recycling and data security company committed to keeping electronics out of landfills and providing families in-need access to technology. Since its founding in 1986, Comprenew has recycled over 50 million pounds of electronic material with a strong emphasis on reuse. They specialize in servicing financial, medical, and legal industries along with municipalities and small businesses.
Comprenew offers secure pick-up services across the state of Michigan and is able to provide detailed asset tracking for all devices. All units are processed in secure, high-surveillance areas for best-in-class data-wiping services. Comprenew is the only nonprofit in the world certified to the e-Stewards and R2 standards, both of which are essential to ensure proper electronics recycling practices.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the fact that many low-income families lack in-home technology that can accommodate the needs of today’s educational landscape. Comprenew’s Connect All Michigan Program (CAMP) aims to dismantle these disparities by offering free and discounted computers to families in need with the direct help of corporate partners. For these students, the gift of a computer can be life-changing.
Comprenew is seeking additional corporate partnerships to expand CAMP and provide more free and discounted units to students experiencing hardship. They are willing to pay corporate generators for qualifying devices to help fund this program. As a nonprofit organization, they are also able to provide tax-deductible donation receipts upon request.
