Comprenew wins 2011 MRC Excellence Award

The Steering Committee for the Michigan Rehabilitation Conference has selected Comprenew to receive the 2011 MRC Excellence Award at the conference this year. Upon review of the nomination submitted by Gloria McMullan of Hope Network, supported by Lynda Sweigart of Hope Network, along with Karen Awe of Michigan Rehabilitation Services, the Committee agreed that Comprenew has demonstrated excellence in leadership and commitment on behalf of persons with disabilities, and significant impact on the service delivery system, was consistent with the criteria established for this award.
The MRC Excellence Awards were presented during the Opening Keynote Address & Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, October 26 at the DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. Kyle Shoemaker, Operations Director at Comprenew, accepted this award at the conference on behalf of the Comprenew team. Mr. Shoemaker has been a significant leader in running this program that teaches individuals to build self-awareness and their employability skills. The Steering Committee of the Michigan Rehabilitation Conference extended its congratulations to Mr. Shoemaker and Comprenew on this important accomplishment.
