Online Store Manager

Position Summary: The Online Store Manager serves our loyal customer base and contributes to the performance and growth of the online retail store(s) while communicating the mission of Comprenew. The ideal candidate should have an above average technical skill set with the ability to manage selling and shipping merchandise online. This is a permanent part-time, Mon-Sat position. Position will require travel to various locations within the greater GR area. Potential advancement opportunities exist for the right candidate.
The Online Store Manager has the same responsibilities, knowledge, skills and abilities of an Assistant Manager with the addition of the following:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on results.
  • Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Achieves financial objectives by reviewing P/L statements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers.
  • Ensures availability of merchandise and services by ordering product and maintaining inventories.
  • Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.
  • Markets merchandise by studying advertising, promotions, and adhering to display plans.
  • Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
  • Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing financial statements and departmental sales records.
  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Enters data accurately and in a timely manner into various reports and forms.
  • Verifies accurate electronic time card entries of employees.
  • Works cooperatively with fellow store managers and the director of retail to standardize policies and procedures across all stores.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Spanish speaking
  • Technical knowledge and ability to use modern cell phones, tablets, Apple and Linux computers
  • Basic server technical knowledge
  • Technical expertise necessary to assist customers with a wide range of technology issues
  • Ability to: bend and reach; lift 50lbs repetitively; sit/stand for extended periods; understand, speak and write
  • English; and use fine motor skills for repairing computers.
  • Ability to type 50wpm.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma/GED (or higher)

EXPERIENCE:
One or more years of proven customer service responsibility, preferably in the technology service arena
One or more years in a retail management position

Inbound Receiving Clerk

Job Description: Comprenew is looking for a part-time receiving clerk in the warehouse working 25-37 hours per week based on the season of the year. The workday is generally between 8 AM and 5 PM 4-5 days per week with occasional Saturdays. The position is responsible for processing inbound materials shipments and drop-offs and directing them to the correct department

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use hi-lo to move materials as needed
  • Communicate with other departments regarding incoming accounts
  • Accurately record and route materials received
  • Courteous and professional appearance in interacting with customers
  • Maintain a neat and safe work environment

Background: The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of work experience in a warehouse environment, certification to drive a hi-lo, great interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain organization of materials in a busy environment.

Required Skills:

  • Certified forklift operator, or will train the right candidate
  • Computer literate
  • Able to bend, reach and lift 40 pounds repeatedly
  • Able to stand and/or sit for long periods

Customer Service Representative

We are looking to fill a Customer Service Representative position to work at one of our local community recycling centers. This individual should be high-energy and motivated. The position is part-time, approximately 30 hours per week with a shift range varying from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday-Friday.

Duties:

  • Following established protocol in assisting customers with the unloading of recycled electronics
  • Ability to operate a cash register and handle cash transaction as well as perform credit card transactions and authorizations.
  • Sorting electronics into various containers for transfer to Comprenew’s processing facility
  • Maintain clean and orderly work and storage area both inside and out

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

Truck Driver

Job Description: Comprenew is looking for a permanent, part-time customer service truck driver working in a fast paced environment, 35-45 hours per week, approximate shift range varying from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm 4-5 days with occasional Saturday’s.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Box/Straight truck driving experience and associated driver’s credentials
  • Clean, safe driving record with up-to-date chauffeur’s license (CDL license a plus but not required)
  • Daily logistics management on routes (with direct communication with scheduling department)
  • Strong understanding of scheduling and territories
  • Vehicle fleet management including all record-keeping, circle check (each day), strong maintenance knowledge and capabilities.
  • Good fitness level with ability to lift 50 lbs. and load multiple electronic items daily
  • Team player ready to assist with warehouse duties when not driving
  • Great interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and the public

Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma (minimum), College courses

Experience:

I.T. Refurb Technician

Job Description: Comprenew is currently looking for a motivated I.T. Refurb Technician (I.T. Refurb Tech). The I.T. Refurb Tech will be responsible for the functional testing and processing of desktop computers and computer components.

Education:

  • A person being considered for the I.T. Refurb Tech position must have at minimum a high school diploma or GED
  • Formal training from an accredited Technology School or computer training program highly recommended

Skills:

Job Description: Comprenew is currently looking for a motivated Audio/Video Refurb Technician (A/V Refurb Tech). The A/V Refurb Tech will be responsible for testing, cleaning and packaging of audio and video products including, but not limited to, DVD players, audio receivers, speaker sets and systems, studio recording equipment and various other electronics.

Retail Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a customer service driven, IT minded individual to assist customers with the purchase of electronic and computer parts and systems.  The ideal candidate should have an above average technical skill set with the ability to work closely with the public selling merchandise.  Candidate should have previous management experience in a fast paced, customer focused retail environment.

Minimum requirements:

  • Previous management experience, preferably in a retail environment.

This is a permanent part-time M-Sat, 1-5 days a week, 8-32 hours/wk position. May require travel to various locations within 1 hour of Grand Rapids.  Candidate will be hired as a Customer Service Rep and will be expected to quickly learn and progress through training to Keyholder, then Assistant Manager and finally Store Manager in Training.

Pay is based on experience.

Computer Repair Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary duty: Ensure accurate repairs are accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Perform day to day repair in store while helping to meet the team’s monthly revenue goals
  • Sort and test incoming merchandise
  • Build, refurbish and repair laptops, desktops, tablets and cell phones
  • Maintain records of repairs and associated costs
  • Plan efficient layout of repair work station
  • Participate with team to price repairs and markup on parts ordered

 

Technician Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to work effectively as part of the store team
