Comprenew Environmental runs programs for both students and community members.

Comprenew Academy is an after-school and summer work skills training program for inner-city high school students in Grand Rapids, MI.

In addition to our student program, we also accept:

  • volunteers seeking job-training
  • community service
    placements
  • companies looking
    for employee mentoring opportunities

Our Comprenew I.T. Tech Academy program works with college level and certification seeking individuals.

Comprenew Academy: creating environmental champions who love business!

Comprenew Student Academy is an after-school and summer work skills training program for inner-city high school students in Grand Rapids, MI.

The mission of Comprenew Environmental is to inspire the local community to live and work in a sustainable manner. This mission is accomplished through the mentoring of inner-city high school youth, who, under the direction of Comprenew staff, help provide the community with best practice e-Waste recycling services. 

Using the business of e-Waste recycling as a resource for application and learning, we teach high school-aged students how strong corporate environmental stewardship is good for business. To date, Comprenew Environmental is the only organization in West Michigan incorporating this philosophy in a real business apprenticeship environment to inner-city youth in the community.

Comprenew Academy has partnered with Calvin College and Aquinas College to provide our students with a unique learning opportunity.
